Biography

Doctor Anthony Butera is a Lecturer of Building Design Management/Construction Management and the 1st-year advisor for Construction Programs at Western Sydney University. Anthony is an enthusiastic academic with a get up and go attitude to get the job done.

Anthony completed his Bachelor of Construction Management (1st Class Honours) before completing his PhD. His PhD focused on reusing waste materials in concrete. He is a home-grown talent, having completed all his studies at Western Sydney University.

Anthony's research has focused on the development of CO2 Concrete, which uses Carbon Dioxide to make recycled aggregate concrete stronger. Anthony is not only an avid researcher but also a real scrapper, conducting numerous laboratory experiments and concrete pours. He has published several journal articles and conference papers based on his research.

Throughout his time at WSU, Anthony has progressed through the ranks, starting as a technical support officer and sessional academic.

Anthony is a dedicated teacher and an effective communicator. Ultimately, witnessing student success is his true motivation. He has taught various subjects related to both Building Design and Construction Management. However, Anthony is best known for his subjects, Negotiation in the Built Environment and Non-Residential Building.
