Ana is a multi-disciplinary scholar with interest in prisoner health, correctional settings and policing. She has co-authored book chapters and journal articles in the field of drugs in prisons, including the supply, demand and harm reduction of drugs in Australian prisons. A central concern of her work has been the nexus between drug use and crime. Ana’s work explores the way in which effective implementation of Australia’s harm minimisation drug policy may assist in lowering re-offending rates amongst adult and juvenile offenders. Additionally, in the area of policing, Ana has focused on plural policing and security networks at football stadia in Australia and England. The use of comparative research methodologies, ethnography and case study research design forms an important part of Ana’s work.
