Western Sydney University is delighted to welcome students back to campus for Spring Welcome Week 2025.

Welcome Week kicks off on Monday, 14 July, across all Western Sydney University campuses. This week-long celebration marks the beginning of the Spring semester, and is designed to help students connect, settle in and feel supported as they begin or continue their academic journey.

On Tuesday, 15 July, the Parramatta South campus will be buzzing with life as it hosts a vibrant mix of activities, support services and opportunities to connect with the Western community, ensuring students feel confident and prepared for their studies.

Professor Alphia Possamai-Inesedy, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Student Success, is pleased to be able to welcome students back for the start of a new semester along with all new students commencing their study mid-year.

“I am thrilled to be able to welcome thousands of students back to campus as part of our vibrant community. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to our new students commencing their studies,” said Professor Possamai-Inesedy.

“Welcome Week is a valuable opportunity for both commencing and continuing students to connect, learn, grow and get the most out of their university experience. I am pleased we can be here to support every step of that journey,” she said.

The University is also pleased to announce that following its successful rollout at on the Kingswood campus, the Western Pantry will be opening a second permanent location at the Parramatta South campus during Welcome Week.

Western Pantry is an initiative enhancing student wellbeing. The pantry provides students with access to pantry items and fresh fruit and vegetables, free of charge.

Since its launch in July 2024, the Western Pantry has recorded over 6,200 visits, including 2,800 visits last semester alone.

Later in the year, the Western Pantry team, will again be holding an Outdoor Food Market. To be held in conjunction with Foodbank, who will be sourcing fresh produce for the event, it will offer students a chance to engage with sustainable food options and enjoy the campus atmosphere.

Spring Welcome Week 2025 is more than just a celebration – it’s a reaffirmation of Western Sydney University’s commitment to student success, wellbeing, and community.

Whether it’s through engaging activities, essential services, or shared experiences, students are reminded that they are part of a diverse and supportive university environment.
