Western Sydney University received Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology approval in September 2023 to establish a campus in the city of Surabaya, East Java. Following the launch of Western Sydney University Indonesia, the Surabaya Campus will open and delivery programs from September 2024.

Continuing the successful history of partnership with University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, plans have commenced to expand the suite of programs delivered at Western Sydney University’s Vietnam Campus from 2025.

Exciting new TNE initiatives are further cementing Western Sydney University’s reputation as a truly global university with two campus projects planned for India. Western will participate in the Innovative Research Universities (IRU) proposition for a consortium-led teaching presence in India; and establishment of a high-tech agriculture campus to leverage the University’s reputation in protected cropping and intensive horticulture. Both prospective campuses in India are expected to commence in 2026.

Articulation & Pathway Programs

The University’s International Articulation and Pathway arrangements facilitate a student’s seamless transition to study a Western Sydney University program in Australia following a course of study completed in their home country. Articulation and Pathway arrangements include different levels and types of programs such as foundation, diploma (vocational or higher education), or part of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

The main premise of articulation and pathway arrangements is the mapping and alignment of curricula and learning outcomes in order to allow students from a partner institution to enter into a specified Western Sydney University program, with or without advanced standing or credit, depending on the type and length of program students completed in the home country.

Articulation and Pathway arrangements outline specific study routes that students can follow to enhance learning and academic progression and ultimatly achieve success in their chosen program at Western Sydney University.
