Need some help printing? Using PrintFree

We are developing some easy-to-use help guides for students to set up and to be able to use PrintFree, no matter which campus you are on. We will have some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) shortly.

What is Follow Me Printing?

Follow Me Print (we call it PrintSmart for staff and PrintFree for students) allows users to print to a shared print queue and print their work from any printer within 24 hours. This ensures that printing is confidential to the user and reduces printed waste from uncollected documents at the printer. As you have registered your card using a specific FujiFilm device, you can print it anywhere at our campuses.

Is PrintSmart and PrintFree Different?

They are the same printing service. The PrintSmart service is for staff, located in staff-only areas, whereas PrintFree is for students (and some public members) who want to print. We are only calling it PrintFree so students know that they will no longer be charged for printing.

If you still need assistance with PrintFree, please contact the Service Desk via WesternNow. Our Service Desk staff will be able to guide you through any issues or follow up with Fujifilm directly.

Why are there two different types of printers?

To ensure a smooth implementation, the Library has decided to keep the old printers for a short time. They will be eventually removed.

I printed to PrintFee and there are no jobs in the queue. What happened?

As mentioned above, there will be two types of printers there  (old pay-as-you-go and the new PrintFree printers). First, please select the right queue in your print settings. By default, it will go to the old queue until we remove all the old printers. Please make sure you select the "PrintSmart" queue.
