The course structure is flexible, allowing students to choose from a range of specialisations including Anthropology, Geography and Urban Studies, Heritage and Tourism, Humanitarian Studies, Human Rights, Peace and Development Studies, and Sociology.

Graduates will enter the workforce equipped with both specialist cultural and managerial knowledge, and a wealth of practical experience. This degree aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills needed for a range of careers in tourism, recreation, and leisure in the public and private sectors. It also equips you with transferable skills relevant to any industry. Graduates may pursue careers in areas such as event management, travel advising, tourism market research, and policy development.

The Bachelor of Planning (Pathway to Master of Urban Management and Planning) is a four-year full-time or eight-year part-time program.

The degree incorporates a placement with local planning/urban management employers, working on a variety of planning tasks to ensure you graduate with an understanding of the planning/urban management workplace.

Graduates of this degree can look forward to career opportunities in urban and regional planning, international development agencies, local government, research, and policy organisations.

The HSC True Reward early offer program gives school leavers much needed peace of mind, providing an early offer into most courses at Western Sydney University based on Year 11 or Year 12 subject results.

Applications are now open to receive an early offer to begin in 2023.
