Graduates from this major are found in fields such as the corporate sector, academia, government, marketing, advertising, non-for-profit community work and social research.

The majors you can choose include Anthropology, Child and Community, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Disability Studies, Geography and Urban Studies, Peace and Development Studies, Sociology, and Heritage and Tourism.

Students in the Advanced degree program are automatically enrolled in The Academy which offers interdisciplinary leadership programs, professional development and local and international internship and engagement opportunities for students.

As a Humanitarian and Development Studies graduate, you can look forward to career opportunities in humanitarian relief, aid development programming, project management, disaster relief work, Community Risk Assessment & Disaster Preparedness, Logistics/Supply Chain, Program Evaluation and policy development.

HSC True Reward Early Offer Program

The HSC True Reward early offer program gives school leavers much needed peace of mind, providing an early offer into most courses at Western Sydney University based on Year 11 or Year 12 subject results.

Applications are now open to receive an early offer to begin in 2023.
