The Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of International Studies are three-year full-time or six-year part-time programs.

As a Bachelor of Arts graduate, you will find employment in diverse areas, including communication and media; education; psychology and counselling; cultural, political, and social policy analysis; writing, and publishing and anthropology.

The majors in our Arts degree are wide and diverse with over 27 different options. Your choices include Anthropology, Arabic, Chinese, Creative Writing, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Cultural and Social Analysis, Economy and Markets, English, Geography and Urban Studies, Global Business, Heritage and Tourism, History and Political Thought, Indigenous Australian Studies, Indonesian, Innovation and Change, International English, International Relations, Islamic Studies, Japanese, Linguistics, Musicology, Music Performance, Organisations and Work, Peace and Development Studies, Philosophy, Psychological Studies & Sociology.

The Bachelor of Arts pathway programs to a Master of Teaching is a four to four-and-a-half year full-time or eight to nine-year part-time program. The course consists of a three-year full-time or six-year part-time Bachelor of Arts degree followed by a one-and-a-half-year to two year full-time or four-year part-time Master of Teaching. You can complete either a Birth-5/Birth-12, Primary or Secondary teaching pathway degree.

The first three years of study in the Arts components will allow you to focus on a general program of your choice and to structure your units of study to gain the necessary learning areas to satisfy the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) discipline knowledge requirements for entry into teaching. Students also undertake a Primary Teaching Specialisation in one of the following areas: English, Mathematics or Science.

The Master of Teaching (Primary) component is a professional teaching qualification for students possessing an appropriate Bachelor degree, preparing you for a career in primary school settings and other educational fields in NSW and beyond. It has been professionally accredited by the NSW Education Standards Authority, and graduates will meet the Australian Professional Standards for Graduate Teachers.

HSC True Reward Early Offer Program

The HSC True Reward early offer program gives school leavers much needed peace of mind, providing an early offer into most courses at Western Sydney University based on Year 11 or Year 12 subject results.

Applications are now open to receive an early offer to begin in 2023.
