Message from the Chancellor

I warmly invite you to join us for the Chancellor’s Golf Day 2025 proudly presented by Walker Corporation to support young Indigenous students to stay the course and complete their studies at Western.

The Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education is a trusted, culturally safe space at Western that supports hundreds of Indigenous students.

Your participation and sponsorship of the Chancellor’s Golf Day 2025 will directly support Badanami to provide timely support to Indigenous students facing hardship – helping future leaders stay enrolled, continue their studies, and thrive.

Whether it’s a laptop, textbooks, or internet access, the goal is simple: remove everyday barriers that can derail a student’s path. Let’s come together to make a lasting impact on Indigenous success and Australia’s future.

Professor Jennifer Westacott AC
Chancellor

What is the Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education?

Established in 1993, the Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education is Western Sydney University’s culturally safe hub for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student support.

Located across all campuses, it provides a welcoming, affirming space where students receive academic tutoring, mentoring, counselling, and community-based support.

Badanami empowers students through connection to Country, to culture, and to each other, and ensures they never have to walk their university journey alone.

Event Host and Presenting Sponsor

Why your support matters

With your support, we can meet our goal to raise $60,000, enough to support more than 30 Indigenous students.

Every sponsorship, every donation, every contribution helps fuel a dream and empower a student to succeed. The Badanami Futures Fund is administered directly by Badanami staff who work closely with students and understand their lived realities.

This means help can be delivered quickly, respectfully, and with cultural integrity. It ensures support goes where it’s needed, when it’s needed, with minimal red tape and maximum impact.

When you join us on the Golf Day, you’re not just playing a round of golf. You’re giving a young Indigenous student the tools to stay in university, to thrive, and to make a difference.

Visit the Badanami website for information on the programs offered to Indigenous students.
