Green Waste
Investigations have been underway into technologies for green waste and food waste processing. A common issue has been the scale of operation on each campus and cost of separate technology, as compared to offsite recycling through established processes.
A current focus on Hawkesbury campus is to pilot composting of campus green waste, and food waste composted through worm farms as valuable soil conditioner for farm productivity and carbon capture.
