The Data Office plays a vital role in ensuring data is leveraged as a strategic asset of the university. The Data Office supports three key functions:
- Insights and analytics;
- Enterprise data platforms and information governance; and
- Artificial intelligence
Led by the Chief Data Officer, the Data Office aims to achieve positive impact through thought leadership and implementation of strategies and initiatives to strengthen the university’s ability to leverage the strategic value of its data and information assets, while ensuring responsible management and use.
The Data Office provides a range of services, including:
- Development and implementation of comprehensive data and analytics strategies that underpin the realisation of the university’s strategic and operational objectives
- Insights and performance analysis to track outcomes and progress on key institutional metrics which support evidence-based decisions
- Commonwealth reporting and submissions under the Commonwealth Grants Scheme, Mission Based Compact and Australian Tertiary Education Commission (ATEC), including Tertiary Collection of Student Information (TCSI)
- Student surveys and quality indicators of learning and teaching to provide actionable insights that drive continuous improvement
- Development and oversight of artificial intelligence enablement and governing frameworks, policies and procedures
- Leading data and information governance across the university to support responsible management and use of data and information assets
- Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence specialising in predictive analytics and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to enhance various aspects of university operations
- Automation and AI use cases that drive innovation, prediction, and process efficiency across the University
- Oversee the design, consolidation, implementation, and maintenance of the University’s enterprise data architecture and systems
- Records management and archival support to manage and preserve University information and records securely
- Modern data platforms, integrations and data visualisation tools to deliver scalable, and connected data solutions
