Week 17: Research

The University of Western Sydney has always been at the forefront of providing opportunities for research and advancement in most fields of human endeavour. Research has been undertaken individually or in collaboration with others both within and outside the University in fields including but not limited to agriculture, health, engineering, physics and education.

Some areas of research have included:

• River Farm at Hawkesbury where various crops, bee species and irrigation techniques were trialled
• The Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment where research is undertaken into forestry, agriculture, horticulture, conservation, ecology, soil sciences
• Godfrey Lucas the Foundation Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Western Sydney Nepean researching antennas, aviation navigation systems, microwave wave systems
• The Macarthur Auditory Research Centre Sydney (MARCS) consists of eight laboratories and carries out research into auditory, speech and language perception, cognition and development
