Research

The Chinese Medicine Centre is a platform for scientific research aimed at validating and translating TCM in contemporary education, clinical practice and research.

The Centre conducts leading innovative clinical research though a series of partnerships with internationally recognised research institutes. Research opportunities extend to both Masters and PhD candidates, with positions accessible to both domestic and international students. It offers a range of international mobility programs, including CSC (Chinese Scholarship Council) scholarship, and offers student and academic exchange programs with internationally recognised universities and institutes which include Western Sydney University’s international partners.

  • We have established the first Sino-Australian Oncology Research Alliance, a clinical research cooperation platform in collaboration with Liverpool Hospital in the South Western Sydney Local Health District.
  • We have launched a Chinese medicine plantation project. With the state-of-the-art greenhouse facility and farm at Western Sydney University, Hawkesbury Campus. We aim for the cultivation of clean and high-quality medicinal herbs and commercialization of medicinal products for the Australian and Chinese markets.
