Adolescent Vulnerability and Resilience Research
August-October 2026
Project Summary
Young and Resilient is working with World Vision South Asia and the Pacific region to collate evidence on what is driving vulnerability for young people, what helps them navigate challenging conditions and what they want from policy-makers and programmers.
SDGs
Project Description
Young people across the South Asia and Pacific region face a range of pressures making life challenging, but policy-makers, NGOs and other organisations are lacking evidence directly from young people about what they need to make life easier for them.
This project addresses this lack of youth centred evidence by facilitating research workshops with ~150 young people in 8 of the 10 South Asia and Pacific countries to answer, "What is driving vulnerability among young people aged 12–24 across South Asia and the Pacific — and what can be done about it?". Workshops are conducted by World Vision, and Y&R is performing the data analysis and synthesis of findings.
Outputs
World Vision will produce a range of outputs including country and regional reports, and advocacy and policy change suggestions.
Outcomes and Impacts
Through this project, young people in each of the participating countries were trained and supported to lead research workshops, increasing their skills, capacities, and experience. The outputs produced in partnership with World Vision, will equip decisionmakers with the information they need to create better programs for young people across the region.
