Art of Climate Change exhibition provides powerful platform for youth climate action
SYDNEY, 3 September, 2024: A powerful exhibition showcasing 50 pieces of work communicating the urgent need for action on climate change was launched at the Greenhouse Climate Tech Hub in Sydney's CBD this evening. The works were created by Western Sydney University students and the event was hosted by the Young and Resilient Research Centre and Edge Impact who are a global, sustainability impact consultancy.

The event was introduced by Michelle Catanzaro (Director of Academic Program & Discipline Lead at the School of Humanities and Communication Arts) and Philippa Collin (Co-Director of the Young and Resilient Research Centre) as a part of the New Possibilities project which is being undertaken by the Young and Resilient Research Centre. The project explores the significance of young people's participation in climate change advocacy and activism and the implications for democracy.
The event was held in conjunction with Edge Impact and it focused on ways in which students are using visual mediums to communicate the impacts of climate change and action as well as some of the possible solutions. The 50 pieces of work were created by Western Sydney University Design and Indigenous studies students.
Both Michelle Catanzaro and Philippa Collin spoke to a packed audience at the event and participated in a discussion panel with industry leaders Jordan Stokes, Global Creative Director at Edge Impact, Mark Rowland, Chief Collaboration Officer at Greenhouse Climate Tech Hub, Madison Kuras, Project Officer for the Australian Museum's Climate Solutions Centre and Alanna Roy Bentley, Senior Creative at Edge Impact.
