About Us

The Young and Resilient Research Centre works with children and young people around the world to generate evidence and channel their insights into policy and practice.

Today's globalised world holds significant prospects, but it can be tough for young people. They face a variety of challenges - from rising un- and underemployment, to housing stress, mental health difficulties, and climate change. At the same time, technology is playing an increasing role in young people's lives.

The Young and Resilient Research Centre, housed within the Institute for Culture and Society at Western Sydney University, was established in 2019 to explore how to enhance young people’s resilience in the face of these challenges - and to understand the role that digital technology can play.
