World Leisure Day Event 2024
The Western Sydney University World Leisure Centre of Excellence (WSU WLCE) participated in the global celebration of World Leisure Day through a mix of in-person and online activities that explored leisure’s role in social transformation. Aligned with the theme “A Day to Foster Leisure for Social Transformation,” the event brought together students, researchers and community members to engage in cultural performances, workshops and nature-based activities. The day reflected WSU WLCE’s commitment to promoting inclusive, accessible and meaningful leisure experiences for all.

Research Week Event 2024
As part of Research Week, the Western Sydney University World Leisure Centre of Excellence (WLCE) hosted a lecture with Emeritus Professor David Rowe (FAHA, FASSA) from the Institute for Culture and Society, where he explored how the concept of leisure evolved—from pre-industrial life to commercial and digital cultures.
