The opportunity of residential property investment vehicles in enhancing affordable rental housing supply

Professor Newell is leading a team of researchers in the investigation of the opportunity to develop an effective residential investment vehicle to expand the supply of affordable rental housing and contribute towards meeting Australia's housing needs in the medium to long term. Residential investment vehicles are an innovative mechanism for creating portfolios of rental properties to meet the demands of renters. Hence, it is essential to examine whether residential investment vehicles could expand the supply of affordable rental housing. The project will be guided by ongoing input from Australian and international stakeholders. This project is funded by the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute
