Exploring the Techno-Economic Feasibility of Industrialised Construction for Rapid, Affordable Housing in Western Sydney
Project Summary
This project aims to conduct a pilot investigation into how industrialised construction technologies can effectively mitigate Australia’s housing crisis with a focus on Western Sydney because of its significant potentials, e.g., economic and cultural hub, attracting property buyers, investors, and developers. The focus will be on techno-economic factors, e.g., cost analyses, scalability, and potential time-saving impacts. Results from this pilot study will form the foundation for a larger research program and an external grant application, aligning with ICS’s commitment to fostering cross-sector and HASS-STEM collaborations.
