Virginia Schmied is an outstanding supervisor of postgraduate research students.  She has supervised 32 students to completion and is currently supervising 12 students, many as co-supervisor as she mentors junior supervisors.  Virginia's students participate in both one-to-one supervision as well as a group supervision process that offers access to other supervisors and peers.  This Is a supportive environment where students can discuss their research, learn about other methodologies and methods and are mentored in the supervision process.  In her role as Director of Research, Virginia ensures that students are embedded in the research culture of the School.
