The Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism Translational Research Unit (DOMTRU) is committed to reversing the impact of diabetes within our region and around the world. Established in 2016 and directed by a world leader in diabetes research and diabetes service organisation, Distinguished Professor
David Simmons, the core inter-disciplinary DOMTRU team span five Schools and Institutes across Western to provide holistic, evidence-based and innovative approaches to tackling diabetes and obesity. DOMTRU’s expertise has driven world-leading research, increasingly translated into both diabetes clinical practice and prevention strategies, supported by a suite of education programs for current and future practitioners and communities with diabetes.
