Dr Jo-Anne Chuck, Director of Academic Program, School of Science and Health

The 21C curriculum project will provide Western’s science graduates with the self-direction to allow explicit recognition of employability and diverse career destinations. The design and monumental changes required was led by Dr Jo-Anne Chuck as Director of Academic Program and Chair of the 21C Steering Committee within the School of Science and Health. Jo-Anne ensured success of the project through her continued inclusivity across the University and the sector, aiming for all to recognise the role of STEM in society beyond traditional careers. This was in the context of organisational change at Western. She used a distributed leadership model and collaboration to achieve these outcomes resulting in institutional and sector impact.

Jamaylah was pivotal in the transformation of Student Central starting from 2009 until the present day. Thanks to her leadership, Student Central have streamlined, integrated and improved upon the delivery of Student Enquiry and Information Services within Western. Through innovation, business process management and commitment to providing the highest quality service, she has directly improved upon the student experience. In her leadership capacity she has fostered a dynamic and innovative culture among her team to strive for excellence in everything they do. Her dedicated
ethos committed to driving continuous improvement is a positive driver for change beyond Student Central.
