Dr Sandra Garrido, NHMRC-ARC Dementia Research Development Fellow, MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development

Dr Garrido is an NHRMC-ARC Dementia Fellow in the MARCS Institute. Her research focuses on the influence of music on mental health in adolescents with depression and older adults with dementia. Cross-disciplinary approach has led to novel contributions to theory and practice, integrating methods and perspectives from multiple fields. Her excellence as an ECR is evident from: (i) over $625,000 in research funding (ii) 70+ publications, many in high impact journals, including three books (2014, 2017, in press) (iii) leadership of numerous collaborative partnerships within academia, and with industry collaborators (iv) frequent media interest and involvement in high profile outreach events.
