Biography
Deena Mehjabeen is a public health researcher with a PhD in Public Health from the Translational Health Research Institute (THRI), Western Sydney University. Her doctoral research examined mental health self-care strategies among Arabic-speaking refugee and migrant communities in Australia using a mixed-methods approach.
She works on multicultural health, health equity, and health promotion, focusing on translating evidence into culturally responsive practice. She has experience working as a research assistant on public health research projects in academic and applied settings.
Her research includes mixed-methods and community-engaged approaches, as well as health promotion and equity-focused projects. Her research outputs include peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and conference presentations.
