Research Fellow, Young and Resilient Research Centre

Biography

Dr Teresa Swist is a Research Fellow at the Young and Resilient Research Centre (opens in a new window) whose transdisciplinary research explores the complexity of knowing, making and caring in the digital age. Teresa brings an ecological perspective to critically examine how health is creatively conceptualised, lived, researched, and governed with evolving technologies. She has extensive experience in theory-building and participatory methodologies that advance imaginative possibilities and inclusive practices with people of diverse ages, backgrounds and expertise. As part of the Wellbeing Health & Youth Centre of Research Excellence (opens in a new window) team she is advancing: i) the co-production of an Ethics of Engagement Framework (opens in a new window) and Adolescent Health Research Commission; ii) a literature review about the adolescent life-course, digital innovations and health equity; iii) partnerships to prototype a digital platform that embeds ‘co-curation’ (opens in a new window) to sustain a knowledge and urban commons. Key to her work is how innovations across community, institutional, city, and global settings - alongside novel policy measures - could reduce (rather than amplify) health inequities. How narratives of healthcare, technology, and data imbue everyday practices is another interest.
