Dr Sam Arnold

Biography
Sam is an academic with the School of Psychology, Western Sydney University and Visiting Fellow with the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health (NCEIDH). He is the former lead author of the Instrument for the Classification and Assessment of Support Needs (I-CAN), was recently focused on the Australian Longitudinal Study of Autism in Adulthood (ALSAA), and is now leading a study developing the construct of valued contribution for application to outcome measurement.
Sam is a registered psychologist with a background in supporting adults with disability in community settings. Prior to conducting research at NCEIDH, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Disability Studies (CDS), University of Sydney and provided counselling and clinical services at the NSW Developmental Disability Health Unit (DDHU) and the Northern Sydney Intellectual Disability Health Team (NIDH). He completed his PhD in 2016 on the "Measurement and Conceptualisation of Support Needs".
