Biography

Liz joined Western 10 years ago to launch their paramedicine program and is now an Associate Professor in Paramedicine and Associate Dean (Learning and Teaching) for the School of Health Sciences.

Liz has a diverse research background, initially undertaking a PhD in physical anthropology. More recently she has combined her experience as a paramedic with her teaching expertise to focus on research that is aimed at improving the paramedicine discipline, specifically looking at impacts on vulnerable patient populations, paramedicine workforce trends and pedagogy. As a developing discipline, she is also passionate about supporting emerging researchers in paramedicine and supervises several HDR students in Australia and internationally. She is currently leading a team of researchers from Western, Edith Cowan University and Auckland University of Technology, to develop and analyse the first national paramedicine workforce survey with the aim of informing future policy and organisational process.
