Biography
Dr Laynie Hall Pullin is a Registered Nurse and lecturer with extensive experience in undergraduate and post-graduate nursing education. She has a background in Spinal Cord Injury and rehabilitation nursing and held the position of School Disability Coordinator from 2015-2019. Her teaching is in behavioural and social science, palliative care, research and health promotion. Laynie obtained her PhD in 2015 for her thesis entitled "Living with and providing support to people with spinal cord injury: Experiences of long-term family carers". Her research explained how family caregivers in this context provide active, lifetime support which aims to keep the family unit sustainable into the future. In 2014 she was awarded the Fellow 43 Medal for services to Spinal Nursing Research. Laynie is an active member of the Australasian Rehabilitation Nurses Association (ARNA) and is past Vice-President of the NSW/ACT Chapter, speaking regularly at conferences, symposiums and clinician Study Days. She is a peer reviewer for several international journals focusing on aspects of spinal cord injury and rehabilitation.
