Biography
Brahm has a medical degree and general practice training from Indonesia. He has been a medical academic since 1996. His teaching portfolio spans medical microbiology, infection control, epidemiology, research methods, evidence-based medicine, medical anthropology, and social determinants of health, and across medical, nursing, public health, and pharmacy courses. He has taught in the undergraduate, Honours, Master’s and PhD levels in Indonesia and Australia. Joining Western Sydney University in 2013, Brahm now serves as the Faculty of Health Associate Dean Global and Partnerships, where he leads partnerships and initiatives with community organisations, global institutions, alumni, and philanthropic bodies at the Faculty of Health which comprises the Schools of Medicine, Nursing & Midwifery, Health Sciences, and Psychology. Brahm is also the Senior Advisor of Medicine in Context, the School of Medicine’s flagship community engaged learning program. Brahm brings to his works at THRI his vast community engagement networks and his expertise in community engaged learning, cross-cultural knowledge translation, and diversity, intersectionality, equity and inclusion.
