Biography

Andrew completed his Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) thesis at THRI exploring the experiences of heterosexual men with prostate cancer (PCa). After completing his Honours thesis, He worked at THRI across numerous diverse projects within marginalised health including cancer and fertility, adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer, post-disaster resilience, motherhood and rheumatoid arthritis, complementary medicine and integrative oncology services, both prior to and during his PhD candidature. His PhD thesis examined experiences of unemployment of Young unemployed people and the perspectives of their employment brokers. Since then, Andrew’s research focused on community-engaged medical education and the social determinants of health, before becoming Associate Lecturer in Medical Education with the School of Medicine in 2023. Andrew is currently involved in research which spans the areas of social determinants of health, gamification and creative simulation, accountability to young people in health, as well as evaluation of online mental-health tools.
