Research Impact Workshop with Dr Shantala Mohan

Event Name Research Impact Workshop with Dr Shantala Mohan
Date 21 Sept 2017 or
  25 Sept 2017
Description

Western health and medical researchers are invited to attend a presentation on impact, hosted by the Translational Health Research Institute.

In 2018, Western Sydney University will participate in the Australian Research Council's impact and engagement assessment. This is an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to impact as a whole; and it's an opportunity for researchers to demonstrate their own impact or to learn more about the process. Come and find out about Western's approach to the 2018 Impact and Engagement Assessment and how you can improve your own skills in measuring and talking about your own research impact.

The presentation will also discuss: the 2014 UK Research Excellence Framework exercise; some impact case study exemplars of relevance to the health discipline from top performing universities in the UK; the 2017 ARC pilot assessment of engagement and impact; Western Sydney University's approach to the 2018 and future assessments of impact; the process of developing the impact case studies; and the relevance of impact in the current funding climate.

This will be followed by a Q&A session.
