This training session will be facilitated by Lily Collison (Medicine Librarian) and Elizabeth Conroy (THRI HDR Director). The session is open to HDR students being supervised by THRI academic members and places are limited to a maximum of 16 students.

Session outline:

  • Setting up journal and search alerts
  • Reading effectively and the Cornell note taking approach
  • Using Endnote to organise and search your literature
  • Mendeley community groups
  • Using NVivo and LitAssist to summarise your literature
  • Balancing note taking with other tasks during your PhD
  • Library resources
