Indian Cultural & Ecological Immersion Tour

This New Colombo Plan funded international study tour was based in Lucknow, India and the rural communities of Uttar Pradesh at the foothills of the Himalayas.

Students spent one week at Lucknow University Students gaining a broad knowledge about the many different challenges faced by the people of India, with a focus on issues around water security. Included were visits and workshops with the Centre for Environmental Education, UNU RCE Lucknow and local schools, as well as peer to peer learning with students from Lucknow University.

The second week offered cultural and ecological immersion visits and tours including a farm stay at Suhelwa Sanctuary, conducting case studies in the rural and tribal communities on water and health challenges.

The trip concluded with an overnight stay in Agra and visits to the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.
