Subject Progression Rule

If you fail a non-elective (or its equivalent) twice you will place on At Risk.

The Subject Progression Rule carries across all programs, for example if you fail a non-elective subject in a program and transfer to a new program where that subject is also a non-elective subject and fail on your attempt of the subject in the new program you will be placed At Risk.

You will be Excluded where you have:

  1. Failed the same or equivalent non-elective subject three times, or
  2. Been awarded a Practicum fail for the subject (See Assessment Policy).

If you return from a period of Exclusion and fail the same subject (or its equivalent) for a fourth time, you will be excluded for a further 12 months and will not be permitted to re-enrol for any program that includes this non-elective subject (or its equivalent).

A Non-elective subject refers to any subject that is mandatory for a student to complete in order to graduate from their program. This includes any core subjects as well as any mandatory subjects in any field of study.

If you require assistance with your studies, you can speak with your Academic Program Advisor or Director of Academic Program for your School.
