Biography
Michelle joined the university with over ten years' experience in various financial and management accounting positions in ASX100 companies where she worked in budgeting, costing, corporate reporting, tender preparation, change management, systems redesign, and acquisition. Michelle has also worked as a consultant and has volunteered on not-for-profit boards in a number of roles.
Michelle first joined the university in 1999, as a sessional staff member before joining the university as a lecturer in 2005. Michelle is currently the Associate Dean, Engagement in the School of Business.
Michelle teaches in face-to-face, blended and fully online modes across undergraduate and postgraduate programs in accounting, business and financial planning. Michelle is a leading academic in the area of financial planning, with her research cited in the media. Michelle completed her PhD on the role of trust in financial planning and has published a range of academic papers in financial literacy, financial planning and financial planning education, in addition to text book chapters for financial planning. Michelle supervises a number of PhD students and is currently working on new and exciting research projects in accounting and financial planning.
