Snr Lecturer in Medical Education,
School of Medicine

Biography

Dr Bronwen Dalziel works as a Senior Lecturer in the Medical Education Unit. She coordinates the Scientific Streams for Years 3 to 5 (eLearning) and is leading a curriculum mapping project "A Roadmap for Learning:  a first year online learning support system". The mapping project has been extended to cover all of the learning outcomes of the MBBS course (Years 1 to 5). Her current research focus is in Learning Design, looking at creating reusable templates for the development of content for online modules and measuring the benefits of a 'flipped classroom' model. Bronwen has a PhD (Science) from the University of Sydney, with research looking at genetic based differences in energy metabolism of obese people. Although Bronwen has moved out of a lab-based environment, she still has an interest in public education about obesity, childhood obesity and insulin resistance. Prior to starting at UWS, she worked for an eLearning company, LAMS International, developing online science lessons for K to 12 students in the UK, as well as running training courses on how to use the Learning Activity Management System (LAMS) software.
