Biography
Rosemary Qummouh has been with the School of Social Science since 2011 teaching in various units across the BSW, BCW and BCSD programs. Rosemary has 24 years clinical experience working in community based programs with newly arrived refugee / humanitarian entrants. Rosemary’s background is in Social Work, Sociology and Counselling, specialising in trauma with a focus on post traumatic stress disorders and mental health social work practices. Rosemary is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with AASW and is an Accredited Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Her research interests concern trauma and mental health issues in relationship to refugees. Rosemary has worked closely with Mission Australia focusing on newly arrived migrants with refugee status and with Transcultural Mental Health Centre. Rosemary has a passion and interest in bringing her field experiences to the teaching of social work practices in the Bachelor of Social work at WSU.
