Biography
Dr Katherine Cooper’s research interest is in holistic health, especially spirituality in the context of nursing. Her Master of Nursing (Honours) used a mixed methods design to investigate spirituality among nursing students, and PhD used a critical discourse analysis methodology to investigate spirituality and spiritual care among RNs. Dr Cooper has seven peer reviewed articles published in Q1 & Q2 journals and 2 published book chapters. All publications are in the area of spirituality and nursing.
Dr Cooper was involved in developing the research proposal for and running a pre-test, post-test project which investigated the effects of a nutrition program on biometric markers (BGL, Blood pressure, and Cholesterol levels). This project was run at a university in Papua New Guinea. Dr Cooper has also been involved in clinical research, investigating the impact of a newly developed gluten free cereal on coeliac biometric markers.
