Biography
Roman is a lecturer and the former Director of Academic Program for the Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) course in the School of Humanities and Communication Arts. Roman
In 2013 he was awarded a national Office of Learning and Teaching Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning and a UWS VC's Excellence Award again for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning. In 2015 he was awarded a Western Sydney University, Distinguished Teaching Fellow for 2015 - 2016.
Prior to joining Western Sydney University, he was working in industry as a graphic designer and web designer in the online learning field. Clients included the Australian Stock Exchange and Mitsui Australia. He was also involved with a private education provider, developing curricula for multimedia courses.
As an academic, his principle interests are in teaching and learning, particularly the first year experience in Higher Education. His focus in recent times, has been on how we give students more flexible access to learning resources and activities, by blending online learning with campus-based study.
