Biography

Dr Walid Bakry is a lecturer in finance and the Financial Training Lab Academic lead at the Western Sydney University (WSU). Walid holds a PhD in Finance from WSU, a Master of Science in Finance from Louisiana State University, and an MBA from Alexandria, Egypt. He also held an Adjunct academic position internationally. Moreover, Dr. Bakry has conducted multiple training and workshops in Australia and provided financial consultation for various private organizations overseas. Dr Bakry has published peer-reviewed papers in internationally reputable finance journals, such as International Review of Financial Analysis, Renewable Energy, Finance Research Letters, Behavioral and Experimental Finance, Research in International Business and Finance, International Journal of Emerging Markets, and Economic Analysis and Policy. His research focuses on Financial Markets Efficiency, Stock Market Volatility, Financial Integration, Cryptocurrencies, Behavioural Finance, Portfolio Diversification, and Islamic Finance.
