Biography
Ushi is an academic researcher who specialises in the financial disclosures, governance, and accountability of not-for-profit organisations (NFPs). Her recent research projects focus on financial disclosures practices, public perceptions of these disclosures, and determinants of financial disclosures within the Australian NFP sector. In addition to publishing in Tier-1 academic journals, Ushi has disseminated her research findings in industry journals (such as The Conversation, Pro Bono, and Third Sector News). She engages and collaborates with industry partners as an advisory panel membership of the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB), a conveyor of CPA Australia's NFP (Parramatta) discussion group, and an executive member of Australia and New Zealand Third Sector Research Inc. (ANZTSR).
Ushi works closely with Postgraduate Accounting and MBA students by coordinating and lecturing units like Company Accounting and Financial Reports for Decision Making.
For her academic excellence, Ushi was included on the Western Sydney University (WSU)’s Dean merit list, received a Dean’s medal from WSU, and was invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society.
