Biography

Stewart Alford is an Associate Lecturer in Health Services Management, with both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in Health Services Management, Aged Care Management, Therapeutic Recreation and Mental Health Practice. Stewart has taught for a number of years both sessionally and on a permanent basis within College and University settings.

Stewart completed his PhD surrounding the facilitation of self-determination and personal resilience in consumers with an enduring mental illness through the therapeutic recreation intervention - Recovery Camp. With developing research interests in the areas of: self-determination theory, resilience, volunteerism and consumerism in healthcare settings, recreation management and workplace learning.
