Biography

Roger Attwater is Senior Manager, Environmental Sustainability in the Office of Estate and Commercial, Division of Finance and Resources. Environmental Sustainability responsibilities include those relating to environmental operations and sustainability, including campus environmental assets and risk management, the University environmental management system, and the Hawkesbury farm. Roger has strong interests in practical and strategic management of campus environmental assets, examples of which include the Hawkesbury Water Recycling Scheme and the Hawkesbury Bushfire Unit.

Roger has degrees in Agricultural Science and Natural Resource Management from the University of Western Australia and a PhD from the Australian National University. Over the past 25 years he has worked in a range of aspects of integrated catchment and environmental management, with his previous roles including landcare in Western Australia, PhD studies in rural Thailand on participatory catchment management, international exchange and professional development as a Guest Professor of Huazhong University in Wuhan China, and as a researcher with the Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute. Along with his ongoing professional role Roger has published a number of articles on systemic perspectives on integrated agricultural and environmental management.
