Biography

My research is focused on violence against women, child abuse, primary prevention, and complex forms of victimisation including organised abuse and technologically-facilitated abuse. I lead the 'Violence and Power in Context' stream of the Sexualities and Genders Research group.

I have a diverse research agenda across the fields of gender, violence, culture and technology. I've recently completed research funded by the NSW and Victorian governments on the primary prevention of violence against women, and a research project on the social and legal aspects of young people's sexual use of digital and online technology. I have recent and forthcoming publications on the subjects of online sexual harrasment, institutional power and child abuse, feminist understandings of female-perpetrated violence, and the significance of ethnicity and culture in responses to child sexual exploitation.
