  • Worked previously in a telehealth company as a medical director/software developer where a major role was in Clinical Decision Support (CDS) system development.
  • Wide-ranging expertise in healthcare software and medical devices development. Contributed extensively to the design and implementation of clinical information systems, medication management and CDS applications applied in general practice, home-based, community and residential care.
  • Over 50 authored and co-authored publications related to analysis/decision support of clinical data in various environments.
  • Good knowledge of mathematics, statistics, data mining/analytics, machine learning, AI/decision support in healthcare.
  • Good experience in enterprise architecture specification and design, implementing scalable solutions that integrate with distributed e-Health systems and cloud environments.
  • Extensive health informatics knowledge, including health record, interoperability standards and clinical terminology usage. Substantial consultation provided for health informatics system integration and advice on the applicability of the environments in which systems are being used. Previous Australian Standards participation in CDS and Telehealth.
  • Knowledgeable on issues relating to applied healthcare cybersecurity and cryptography. A recently completed PhD in computing looks at enabling CDS algorithms while the data is entirely encrypted using privacy enhancing technologies. The title is 'Cloud-based homomorphic encryption for privacy-preserving machine learning in clinical decision support.'
  • Monitored clinical risk internally for medical software and devices using formal risk assessment procedures such as FMEA techniques; as well as ongoing incident reporting and advice on risk as issues arise. Trained in Good Manufacturing Practice and ISO 13485 quality management procedures. Achieved TGA accreditation and CE marking through team development of regulatory processes and standard operating procedures.
