Biography

Dr Ana-Maria Bliuc is a social and political psychologist, and a senior lecturer in the School of Social Sciences and Psychology at WSU. She has a PhD in Psychology from the Australian National University, and prior to her current appointment at WSU she was a lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at Monash University, and a Research Fellow at the University of Sydney. Dr Bliuc’s research examines how people’s social identities influence their behaviour in a range of contexts including health, environmental (climate change), and socio-political. Her interests also include understanding stigma, prejudice and discrimination, and the impact of use of new technologies on socio-psychological aspects of behaviour. Dr Bliuc’s received funding from the Australian Research Council and she has published in a wide range of high quality international journals such as Nature Climate Change, WIREs Climate Change, Computers in Human Behaviour, Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, etc.
