First Responder Training at Parramatta City Campus, September 12
Western's Respect. Now. Always. campaign is pleased to announce our next First Responder training on September 12th, 2018. Conducted by UNSW's Gendered Violence Research Network, these sessions are aimed at meeting some our obligations under Change the Course, the Australian Human Rights Commissions' 2017 findings into staff and student experiences of sexual assault and harassment at Australian universities.
Participants will be be given an overview of sexual assault and harassment in Western's context, and, specifically, be equipped with understanding and skills in using an evidence-based, best practice response in receiving disclosures of sexual assault and/or harassment. Participants will be invited to be identified as First Responders in our University community.
Staff, please register through MyCareer. Students and other interested parties, please direct inquiries to respectnowalways@westernsydney.edu.au. We particularly welcome student attendees.
