Fast Forward Presentation
The Fast Forward Program is a Widening Participation program at Western Sydney University. The program aims to raise educational aspirations for high school students from non-traditional backgrounds. The program began in 2004 and has continued to grow, offering the opportunity for enhanced academic and personal achievement to a large number of Greater Western Sydney students. In 2015 there will be 53 partner schools and approximately 3,200 participants. As part of this program the year 12 conference was held on 4th March and Rebecca Marshall, Sports Relationship Development Officer for the University ran a session with 65 students about how the sports partnerships that the University currently has provides opportunities in the sports industry. Rebecca was joined by Dean Connors from AFL NSW/ACT who spoke about his own experience as a sports professional, Joshua Gaspiere from the Western Sydney Wanderers who shared his experience with combining elite sport and study and Zac French, current Western Sydney University Masters student and Westfields Sports High school scholarship recipient who spoke about his University studies and experience.
