Western Sydney Midwifery Students receive NaMO scholarship to attend Australian College of Midwives NSW Conference
Six students from the Bachelor of Midwifery at Western Sydney University were successful in gaining a NaMO scholarship to attend the Australian College of Midwives, NSW Branch Conference which was held in Leura NSW on the 29th and 30th of July 2016. The successful students were: Sharee Addison, Louise Timbs, Manal Zarour , Christine Foote, Hei Yee Tang and Christie Taylor. Congratulations to you all.
Western Sydney University was well represented at the NSW conference with other B Mid students also attending the conference along with members of the Midwifery teaching team and Midwifery Higher Degree Research students. Two Western Sydney University Midwifery HDR students, Hazel Keedle and Jacqui Wood gave really interesting and engaging presentations, showcasing their amazing research work. Hazel's presentation was entitled 'Climbing the mountain together: Privately practicing midwives supporting women who have a VBAC at home. Jacqui's presentation was about working with incarcerated pregnant women and was entitled 'Knocked up in Lock-up: mountain views from a prison cell.
