Pathways To Dreaming Workshop

On the 19th of July 2013, the School of Nursing and Midwifery participated in the 'Pathways To Dreaming' workshop to2013 Pathways to Dreaming Workshop introduce Indigenous high school students to Nursing & Midwifery undergraduate courses offered at the Western Sydney University.

Originally open to year 10, 11 and 12 high school students, the program expanded this year to include year 9 students. The workshop allowed students to ask questions about the Schools undergraduate courses, the profession of nursing and life as a student studying at UWS. Sharon Jacobs and Suza Trajkovski offered an engaging and interactive session on hand hygiene and a simulation session on respiratory complications.

As a result of the workshop, students reported an increase interest in Nursing as a potential future career choice.
